Front Office Reservation Distribution Channel Settings
This menu item is not visible unless your installation uses the protel IDS connect interface software and you have been assigned the relevant user rights.
protel IDS connect manages the exchange of data between protel SPE / MPE and any external Internet distribution system (IDS).
To ensure that data can be exchanged seamlessly between protel and any external distribution platform, you need to “match” the proprietary protel field names against any deviating designations in the external systems. Open the “Distribution Channel Settings” dialog box in protel Front Office to configure and match any external instances managed by protel IDS connect.
By selecting the option "Fix rate,” the transferred total amount of an imported GDS or IDS reservation is set to be the maximum price in protel. If the respective rate type includes additional split tables for instance, they will be included in the total price.
This option is available for protel version 2015.19.303 or later
If a reservation booked in GDS/IDS can be generally booked at a fixed price, the respective rate code can be marked with the "Fix rate" option in the DCS dialog box (see above). Additive split tables contained in the rate code or extra charges will then be automatically calculated into the overall price, i.e., the rate booked in the GDS/IDS corresponds with the final price in protel.
There are, however, cases where:
the guest has already booked an additional service (e.g., glass of champagne on the 3rd day)
the guest later books something additionally (realized by the manual adding of the split table into the reservation!)
The Fix rate option makes sure that even these additional services will not be booked to the invoice.
The Split Table add option relieves these limitations for individual split tables. Has this option been set for the "Champagne" split table in the DCS dialog box, the split table will be normally booked in protel, even if the rate code has been booked with the "Fix rate" option.
The Split Table add option is only allowed to be used for IDS matchings, if an IDS Version 4.687 or higher is going to be used! If this option is used for an IDS version 4.687 or lower, the IDS version will neither recognize nor process these matchings from this time! Should the "Split table additive" be used, an already running IDS installation will need to be updated to the version 4.687 or higher! Should you have any questions, please contact the IDS Tech Team. |
