How to edit a reservation

protel allows you to open current and future reservations for editing at any time. The screen from which you open the reservation in the software depends on several factors. Do you know the name of the guest? Or do you have a reservation number at hand? Maybe you only know the arrival date....

- Whatever the situation, protel offers numerous ways to open and edit a reservation:

Using the room plan

If you know the room number or room name and the approximate dates for the stay, the room plan offers the easiest way to open and edit the reservation.

A right click on the respective reservation opens the Navigator, where you have access to all relevant reservation data within seconds.

A double click on the respective reservation opens the DC menu, where you can check in or check out  the reservation, alter arrival or departure dates, cancel the reservation and much more.

In addition, you can perform the following actions in the room plan:

Using the reports

The reports are helpful if you only know certain parameters of the reservation that you want to edit. If you know the arrival date, use the arrival report (F6). If the guest has already checked in, use the in-house report (F8). It is also always worth searching in the reservations report (Shift + F9) as this provides access to all reservations stored in the system.

Using the profile search

“Profiles > Private/Companies/...All types” menu (depending on the subject of the search)

The guest search (Menu > Profiles) enables you to search specifically for a guest’s name. Simply enter the name (or the first letters in the name) and click [OK] or press “Enter.” All guests with this name or a name that includes the entered letters are displayed in the results list.

Double click the guest you require and the required guest profile will open. The "History" tab shows all previous reservations made by this guest, the "Future" tab all future reservations, along with open or existing reservations.
